Amaya Lake Dambulla

Manoj, the HK Supervisor, helped make our stay comfortable by keeping the room in excellent shape and being easy to approach whenever we needed something. His friendly manner and attention to detail stood out, as did his commitment to high housekeeping standards. We really appreciate his service and would be glad to see him again next time.

The restaurant meals were delicious, and the staff were helpful throughout our stay. The club car drivers were punctual, careful on the road, and respectful of our requests. At the Front Office, Ms. Yashodhara was welcoming and attentive, while Ms. Shadeela had already helped with my request for a complimentary upgrade during booking. Thanks to her communication and the front office team, we received a free upgrade to a spacious, beautiful, very clean Family Suite. The setting is lovely, with a stunning view of Kandalama Lake at the far end of the property. Amaya Lake Dambulla was clean and environmentally friendly, and Mr. Kalyanapriya (Kala Chef), the Executive Chef, was kind and supportive. We appreciated his hospitality and feel he is a real asset to the hotel. Everything was 1000% superb, and we look forward to returning. Thank you to the whole team for making our stay memorable.

The food was fabulous, with a wide choice at both breakfast and dinner, and everything tasted great. We also enjoyed both pools, and the staff were caring and attentive. The resort is beautifully maintained, surrounded by nature and a lake. Getting between the villas and the restaurant, car park, or pool means a long walk, or you can call the free golf cart. There are also lots of steps to the villas, so keep that in mind. We’d come back, but not with my elderly mother, who found the terrain difficult.

The food may be the best I've had in Sri Lanka, and Imalka from the concierge was especially helpful. Staff overall were courteous and quick to respond. There are several pools, all well maintained, with a safety guard present. Our room had plenty of comforts and a very spacious bathroom. One thing that made us a little uneasy was the large number of monkeys around the property, though some guests might enjoy that. We had a great experience and would love to return.
