The rooms are pretty basic, but that was fine since we were out most of the time, and the location is fantastic. Our hosts were so friendly and made us feel comfortable. One night we had an early safari, and the host got up at 3 am to open the gate for us. Such a kind touch, thank you!

I’ve been coming to Hiriketiya Beach for years, and I always stay here with my family. It’s a lovely place I’m happy to recommend, especially for solo travellers looking for somewhere quiet, clean and safe near the beach. Kalpas place is in a peaceful side street, away from the noisy beach area, with no street noise and a grounding feel. There’s a fantastic massage place right next door, the massage shed. Salt House, Smoke & Bitters and Verse co-working are all just a short walk away.

Kalpa Place was a wonderful experience. The house is beautiful and only a five-minute walk from Hiriketiya Beach. Ishanka and Santi are so kind and lovely!

The Honda scooter did the job nicely. I rode it to Kerawa turtle sanctuary and back without any trouble. A solid little workhorse.
