Sky Forest

We found the place exceptionally clean, the cleanest of our two-week trip. The host was warm and welcoming, and our two-room bungalow had loads of space. We also used two single rooms, both well equipped and equally clean. Wi-Fi sometimes dropped out, and there wasn’t a kettle in the room, although you can ask for one. We were very comfortable here and would recommend it.

There was a slight humid smell, but that’s understandable in such a tropical area, and everything was very clean. We spent three nights here, and it was easily the best value for money in Habarana. Viman and his family made us feel like part of their family and were helpful throughout. The rooms were nice, with hot showers and a little private terrasse out front, where we had huge, delicious breakfasts. They also helped us have a great elephant experience by connecting us with Nipon, a young local who knows the area well. He took us away from the other tours and parks so we could spend time with the animals, and we saw many from very close. I can’t recommend this place enough.

We loved the peaceful nights, listening to nature, even though Habarana is about a 20-minute walk away. The garden patio was a lovely place to have breakfast, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious, with bread, fruit, roti, pancakes, and tea or coffee. Vimal and his family were so kind and went out of their way to make sure things were right. They helped us find a good price for a car transfer from Negombo and arranged a safari at Hurulu to see elephants. We also hired Vimal and his tuk tuk for a couple of days to visit Sigirya, Pidurangula, and Dambulla. He’s a very safe driver. Dinner is available on request, and we had a wonderful authentic Sri Lankan meal one night. We stayed three nights and were very well looked after. Highly recommended!

Our room didn’t have AC, but we were comfortable there for three nights. It’s a little outside town, though still walkable, and we only needed to go in once a day for dinner and groceries, so the location suited us. What really stood out was the private terrace overlooking an incredibly beautiful, well cared for garden. The owners were among the friendliest people we met in Sri Lanka. Breakfast was generous every morning, and the rooms were comfortable and clean, with blossoms on the bed just like the pictures. No false advertising here. We’d definitely recommend staying.
