The staff were friendly and helpful, and many rooms really do have ocean views. There are plenty of services too. Still, the place felt very worn. The equipment is old, the towels that were once white are grey, and signs of age are everywhere. No one offered to help with my luggage, the first time that happened in my month and a half in Sri Lanka, across around a dozen places. The extra-cost breakfast was modest and worse than most I had in the country, so I went elsewhere. The hotel's beach area was neglected too, with the same litter still there during all three days of my stay. I went somewhere else and paid for sunbeds. The high ratings on booking sites may be from years ago, when the place might have been nice. Today it doesn't meet any reasonable standard. The price isn't that low for Sri Lanka, and there are quite a few cheaper, better places in Dikwella.

I wasn't a guest, just accompanying friends who had booked a room for four nights. The manager suddenly told me to leave the building because he didn't like me. I have no idea why, as he doesn't even know me. Later he kicked my friends out too, saying he didn't need them and they had to go. If he charges them for all four nights, he should be punished. It was extremely rude, and nothing like this has ever happened to us anywhere in the world.

The seating area under the hotel was really pretty, shaded and looking out at the beach. The restaurant food was tasty and the prices pretty good, and they gave us a free dessert. It wasn't vegan, and there weren't many vegan choices on the menu: rice, noodles and bruschetta.

The owner was so helpful and did everything for guests. The cook was the best, with perfect, delicious food. The beach is wonderful, the rooms are nice and clean, and the bed linen and towels are the best. The staff are polite. Best place in Sri lanka, recommend it to everyone.

I had a good stay without any complications. The place is clean, the staff are very nice and helpful, and it's right on the beach. It has what you need, but doesn't feel very personal. The WiFi is only in the lobby areas; on the first floor you can still get it, though the signal is questionable. Breakfast was okay. The chef was very kind and made me a tasty omelette or egg. For Sri Lanka and what it is, I think it's a little too expensive. If I came again, I'd proooobably choose a more modern hostel with more personality for the same money or less.
