I was in town because of a hospital emergency, and the host and owner did so much to help. They arranged extra meals, got up at odd hours so I could get to the hospital, had food ready in time, and organized rides to and from the hospital. The rooms are spacious, with high ceilings and a garden balcony. There’s plenty of room, including a large dining area. It would work well for a group of 10-18 or for a couple looking for a comfortable, peaceful night. Fantastic stay. I’ll be back.

The staff made us feel welcome and were incredibly friendly and attentive. Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, and the spa, masseuse, and breakfast were all top-notch. The location was peaceful while still close to attractions. It exceeded what I expected, and I’d definitely return for another comfortable, luxurious stay.

We make a point of visiting Lilara Hotel in the tranquil forests of Diyatalawa whenever we come to Sri Lanka for our regular family holiday. This recent stay was wonderful too. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and so comfortable that I felt pampered. From check-in, the staff were exceptionally friendly and made me feel welcome, and they responded quickly and helpfully whenever I asked for something. The peace and quiet were just what I wanted. I can’t wait to come back.

Weerasinghe is great, and it’s certainly good for the place to have him around. The food is great too. It’s a nice spot for a quiet family outing, or for a bigger get-together if you book the whole place.

The entrance sign for the hotel is in rough shape, so before you see the place, it might make you second-guess your choice. Once there, though, it’s a lovely spot behind the Diyatalawa camp area. The food was pretty good, and Weerasinghe was great.
