Country House

Breakfast was one of the best meals we had on the trip, and Dhiwakar was a great help throughout, including sorting out a rental bike. The place is close enough to walk to Ella’s main street, with tuk-tuks and cabs handy too. Heavy rain delayed us, but our host made the late check-in easy. The room was spotless and felt upscale, with a bathtub and a lovely balcony view. We only wished we’d arrived earlier to see the evening views. There was a power cut, but the generator came on and kept things comfortable. Highly recommended.

The beds were super comfortable, and we had a fantastic view from our room. It’s a great spot for getting into Ella town. We loved our stay, and the hosts were really friendly and always glad to help.

The room was the main problem, and we were relieved to leave. There was a strong sewage smell from the toilet, so we kept its door shut and had to hold our noses when using it. The construction seemed very makeshift, with doors that were hard to lock, oddly layered tiles, and wood in wet areas. The room felt dirty, and the cheap bedding, sofa, and chairs didn’t seem clean either. The online photos looked much better than the actual place, perhaps except for the suite. It felt overpriced for the quality. Still, we liked the views and breakfast, the family running it was kind, and it’s near town.

The room was roomy, with big windows, a nice balcony, a lovely view, and even a bathtub. Breakfast was good and the staff were nice. Still, an unpleasant smell stayed in the room even with doors open on both sides for ventilation. I also wondered if the sheets had been left by the previous guest or hadn’t been washed properly. Street noise was noticeable, though it wasn’t loud enough to affect my sleep.
