The location beside the train station is perfect, but our room was a surprise. It was dark and humid, and so small it could only fit one bed and a half. I’d have been fine with that if we’d known beforehand. We’re not fancy, but I would have picked somewhere else. I expect they may have other room types, so check before booking.

Neel is a really kind owner who takes good care of you. He’s also a guide and tuk tuk driver, and can take you to Ella’s attractions for a good price. When I had a medical issue, he stayed with me and was so kind. The location is near the train but quiet. The rooms are clean and big. There’s no AC, but Ella has good weather, and the fan in the room was totally enough. Definitely stay here when visiting Ella!

We felt so welcome in this beautiful home with Neel and his family. They helped us figure out what to do in Ella and organise the rest of our trip, and the breakfast was amazing too. Great location and fantastic service. Thank you!

The people were lovely, and the home was cozy and clean. They also helped us work out how to spend the time we had left in Ella. We had a very good experience at Eeshani guest inn and would recommend it.

The owner was warm, friendly and helpful, but the guesthouse feels dated and badly in need of a major renovation. There were so many insects in our room that I couldn’t ignore them, and the mosquito net provided was too dirty to use. The water pressure was far too weak for a proper shower, though that seems common in Sri Lankan guesthouses and isn’t unique to this one. The room was old-looking and didn’t have enough light. It’s close to the town centre, but the streets nearby are poorly lit, which made walking back in the dark feel rather scary.
