Our original booking elsewhere in Ella didn't work out, so we looked around and found Oak Ridge, Ella. They arranged cottages for us at short notice, and the staff were quick to help and really kind throughout. We were comfortable there, and the hospitality made the stay feel easy. I really appreciate how much effort they put in.
We were only a short walk from Ella town, which made getting around easy, but the hotel itself felt calm, peaceful, and safe. Our room was spacious and clean, and the staff gave us excellent service. My family, including our two kids, had an amazing stay, starting with a warm welcome as soon as we arrived.
The rooms felt dingy and smelled damp, and the water was murky. We also had some electricity problems, and there was no food available. The owner and staff were friendly, though, and the laundry service was good.
We stayed three nights in Ella and loved the place. Our cottage had a big garden out front, so I could do a bit of exercise there in the morning. The rooms were large and clean, and the beds were nice. Just be aware that the road up to Okreech is steep. If walking is difficult for you, Okreech cottages probably won't suit.
Yogi deserves a special mention for helping make our stay memorable. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. My partner and I spent three days at Ella Okreech Cottages, and it was easily the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The views of Ella Rock and Little Adam's Peak are stunning, and the peaceful setting made it a lovely retreat. We'd happily stay again when we come back to Ella.
