Ella Ridge View

Chathuri and her family made us feel welcome and helped with arrangements, and we had some of the best breakfasts of our time in Sri Lanka. The individual cottages are immaculate and lovely, with a big comfortable bed, AC, a hot shower, and a thoughtful layout. We also went on an excellent Jeep Safari with Gayan, who really knew his stuff.

The family running the place were attentive and very friendly, and the traditional breakfast on the lovely terrace was tasty. We stayed in an upper room with a high standard and a stunning view. It’s peaceful here, close enough to town but far enough from the noise.

That terrace overlooking Ella Peak and the lush valley was the highlight for us. Breakfast was fresh, local, made on the spot without processed items, and served upstairs with a spectacular view. The host was exceptionally welcoming. We were three and booked two rooms for our visit to Ella. On arrival, the staff greeted us warmly, carried our luggage, and offered delicious local tea before showing us around. Both rooms were spacious, beautifully thought out, and very comfortable, with large, well-equipped bathrooms. The location is peaceful and about 600 meters from the town centre, away from traffic noise. I highly recommend it.

The people working here were lovely and helpful. They found us drivers for other parts of our trip at a good price, and even gave me medicine when I was sick. It’s very close to Ella town and the views are gorgeous. The bathroom was a little dirty, but for the price it does the job. A great budget option.
