Ella Sashen Hotel

We had a lovely view and took up less space than a car, but the manager seemed unhappy about giving us parking. Maybe it was because we were a small group of local motorcyclists rather than foreigners. The lunch buffet was good and moderately priced.

We booked a spacious family room with two beds, but there were no chairs or table, and no towels or covers. When we asked, they brought just one small towel. Once the lights were off, little insects and cockroaches appeared, and later winged white ants came in around the window vents. The owners didn't help clean them up. Their hospitality was terrible during the power cut too. They didn't check on us or bring candles until we asked, then gave us half a candle to share between two rooms. There was a generator, but it was switched off after about an hour, so we got by with our phone lights. We booked two nights and left the next morning because the stay was so bad. Some of the photos they've uploaded are fake. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE.

The staff, including the security guard, were so humble and friendly that their kindness felt worth more than the room cost. I left my shoes somewhere on the hotel grounds without realizing it, and they arranged to return them to me safely. That was just one example of the good service and courtesy I experienced. It's a beautiful place, and they looked after me really well.

The view is really nice, but the design and decor throughout the hotel and rooms are really bad. Our room had a massive, disgusting fish tank, and there were mosquitoes and little bugs everywhere. Sound insulation is nonexistent, so we could hear guests eating and talking, as well as animals at night. We shortened our stay from two nights to one.
