O2 Villas Ella Resort

Roshan and his team looked after us so well, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. The hotel is in a good location. We ate both breakfast and dinner there, and the food was very good. We especially liked the buffet breakfast, which had Sri Lankan and Western choices. The room, or cabin, was clean and comfortable enough for our one-night stay, but it was small and the walls were very thin.

The staff were kind, thoughtful, and professional, which made such a difference for our family of four with a child. The room felt like paradise, with plenty of space, a lounge area, and a lovely balcony to start the day. The hot-water shower was amazing, and we enjoyed the delicious breakfast and dinner menu. This stay exceeded our expectations at every step. We were all so excited about this part of our trip. Thank you, we’d definitely come back.

The rooms aren’t insulated, so it can be noisy. I didn’t mind personally, but if you’re sensitive to noise, keep that in mind. The food deserves a mention too. Sri Lankan breakfasts tend to be quite similar, and while this one was too, the quality was way above the others. The curry was outstanding, an absolute must-try and one of the best I’ve had in my life. The hotels are very nice and beautiful, with lots of care put into everything. The staff were the highlight, especially Sanjeev, the manager, who went well out of his way to make our stay incredible.

We could see the train from our hotel room balcony, and the location was really convenient for visiting the 9 & 3 Arch bridges. The view was beautiful throughout our 3-night stay. Every staff member was brilliant, worked so hard, and made a great team. A big thank you to Sameera & Chinthaka for keeping our room so clean. The food was outstanding, with lots of choice and new flavours for us. Couldn’t fault anything. Well done.
