Pineapple Hills Ella

We didn't get a refund, even though Airbnb's policy said we could cancel with 24 hours' notice. Getting around was another hassle since the location is quite remote and we always needed a tuktuk or motorbike. The room was unpleasant too: the bed was wet and smelly, the internet worked poorly, and we could hear everything happening in the lobby. The shower got hot enough that we almost scalded our skin. Overall, a very unpleasant stay.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the caretaker still made us delicious, filling meals even though they were short staffed. We found this a really comfortable and good place to stay in the Ella area. It's easy to get to major attractions such as the Nine arch bridge and Ravana Pool club. We'd recommend it to anyone wanting to spend some good time around Ella.

We loved talking with the hotel owners, and the breakfast was tasty and generous. Our room had a huge window and a small balcony looking out at a splendid view, with Ella rock in the background. It's set back and up from the main road enough that traffic noise didn't disturb our sleep. The hotel sits between the Nine Arches Bridge and Little Adam's Peak, with lovely trails to both starting right across the road. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we'll definitely come back!

The rooms looked completely different from the pictures online, and our expectations weren't met. My family and my friend's family had booked two double rooms ahead of time, but we didn't get a warm welcome. We waited about 30 minutes before a man came to ask for our details. He seemed confused and unprepared to help. The rooms weren't clean or tidy, the bathrooms were filthy, and one mirror was broken. The panlight opened onto a shared corridor, so there was no privacy. When we asked for something for breakfast, we were given something entirely different. There were also frequent power outages. It was a disappointing experience.
