We had dinner at the restaurant downstairs, where the service was good and the price reasonable. The balcony looking out over the suburban area was a nice extra, and we thought the stay was good value. It seems well suited to a short overnight stay. We were two adults and two children under 12, staying room-only in luxury Room No. 57. It was on the third floor. The room was spacious and clean, with a double bed, a single bed, TV, extra seating, mini fridge, kettle, and bath towels. There were a few small problems in the bathroom: marks on the walls and broken soap and shower holders. They were manageable, and the hot water and water pressure were fine. The property is mainly known for its restaurant and banquet hall, though it also has rooms.

Every year on Poyaday, we order food for the annual alms giving for those observing seela. It arrives on time, is neatly packed, clean, and very tasty. The staff are friendly and remind us about the order the day before.

The set menu and nasi goreng were quite good, but the chicken fried rice and rice and curry fell short on both flavor and quality. The food was okay overall, just not at the level I expected after previous years. I’m giving it four stars, though I’m not fully satisfied because the experience wasn’t like the ones I’d had here before. I hope they get back to being consistent.

The dessert really summed up how disappointing this dinner was. We ordered wattalappam listed at Rs. 250, waited another 20 minutes, then got a small bowl that seemed like the Rs. 70-80 version from an ordinary bakery. It felt like we’d been cheated. My girlfriend, her family, and I waited about 40 minutes for our meal after ordering at the Hasara Hotel restaurant. When it arrived, the food was cold and the plates looked carelessly washed. The service and food quality were poor, and nothing felt worth the price. We won’t be going back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent meal.
