We only stayed one night, but breakfast was freshly made, delicious, and served with care. The hosts were warm and attentive throughout, and were glad to help with requests. The old-world building is beautifully presented, and our room was spotless, comfortable, and well kept. It was a calm, peaceful place to come back to after busy days exploring Sri Lanka. We’d happily stay at Orchard House again if we’re in Galle.

The location is great for seeing Galle Fort, close to the lighthouse, cafes, and restaurants. Staff were friendly, paid attention to requests, and breakfast was tasty. The garden is pleasant, though the pool wasn’t cleaned properly. Our room had decent space, but the heavy old furniture made it hard to move around with luggage. Both the room and bathroom need a makeover, and the sheets and towels should be replaced and cleaned better. For the price, it felt like we were mainly paying for the location rather than the accommodation.

The hosts were superb, always helpful and accommodating, and breakfast was delicious: a slightly spicy omelette, fruit, toast, tea, and coffee. The decor has a lovely antique feel, and the room was great, though the bed sits quite high off the floor. Wi-Fi was hard to get in the rooms, but reception was good in the courtyard. I’d stay again.

The inner gardens are beautiful, and the pool was just right. We enjoyed our stay and everything about the accommodation, especially the friendly, helpful staff and delicious breakfast.

Mr Malaka and his staff gave us fantastic hospitality during our short stay. Their service was superb, and everyone was kind and helpful. The place is clean and beautiful. If it’s available, I’ll stay here on my next trip to Sri Lanka.
