The rooms are spacious and clean, and the WiFi was okay. One shower was barely warm, though the shower in the next room was hot. There were no curtains or blinds, just stick-on privacy film on the outside of the windows. The furniture looked as if it had been covered with poor-quality varnish, and the ceilings showed signs of past leaks, with bubbling plaster and rough paint repairs. We found bedbugs and ants coming out of the bed's wooden frame. The owner said an empty crisp packet in our bin was attracting them, after rummaging through the bin. We were offered the room next door, which was fair, but its WiFi didn't work at all. I woke up with ants crawling on me there too, so by morning we chose to leave. The owner didn't accept responsibility or offer even a partial refund, and instead talked about the fees he had to pay. He seemed to blame us for the ants, the rain for the leaking roof, and our phones for the poor WiFi. Getting there by car may be awkward: the side street leading to the main doors is very narrow, though the place isn't far from the main road. At first, walking through the garden, I thought it looked pretty and was quiet, and the owner seemed pleasant. But the air from the nearby black water river had a dank, musty sewage smell. That may be outside the owner's control, but it's something to know about. The rooms also have a lot of PVC fittings, like a crystal window showroom. Not necessarily bad, just a bit odd. If you get to the end of this review, pay cash when you leave. You may not feel like paying the full amount by then.
