Windy Garden

We loved the guesthouse. The staff were so sweet and brought lunch to our room when we’d just arrived. Our room and private terrace by the pool were spacious. They drove us to and picked us up from the fort Galle for better rates than PickMe. At breakfast, we saw beautiful birds and monkeys in the backyard. 5/5.

The breakfast was abundant, with five different types to choose from and loads of tasty fresh fruit. Definitely try the Sri Lankan breakfast! The family who runs the Windy Garden is extremely kind and accommodating, and we felt welcome and at home. They helped us with everything, from tuktuk service to taxis from the airport and to our next destination, plus tips about activities in Galle and around. Their in-house Tuktuk driver, Ruwan, is a lovely man who brought us everywhere at all times.

Breakfast was great, and the paid tuk tuk arranged by the hotel was excellent too. I loved the place and the staff were so lovely and always ready to help. My first room felt pokey, but I was moved to room no. 6 and that one was great. There are three flights of stairs and no lift, so it may not suit anyone with mobility difficulties. I'd recommend it if you're after a genuine Sri Lankan hotel.

The rice and curry cooked by the lovely mother and daughter was the best meal I had in my three weeks in Sri Lanka. Breakfast had a really good range too. It's a beautiful, peaceful place with a great pool, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
