Villa Water Lily

The location was good, and we liked that part of our one-night stay with a group of six. The basics in the room, though, were disappointing. There was no drinking water, glasses, tea or coffee setup, or toilet paper, so we had to call and ask for each thing. Even then, they brought just four small water bottles for six adults, and one milk packet had expired. The lighting was very dim and uncomfortable. Cleanliness was only okay, about 5/10.

The food was generally tasty, though it could be better. Service needs improvement too. For the price, I expected better value, with more care given to cleanliness and accuracy.

Villa Water Lily has nine rooms, five with A/C and four without, and can sleep around 20 to 25 people comfortably. The whole villa, pool included, costs Rs. 85,000 per night, which seems reasonable for the size and capacity. The pool was clean, well maintained, and five feet deep, nice for relaxing. It’s a spacious, peaceful place about 10 minutes from Galle Fort. The washrooms were clean, and although it’s right by the main road, the surroundings stayed quiet. One thing to know is that the rooms didn’t have blankets, so guests may need to bring their own. It was a good stay with plenty of potential.

The rooms were spacious and clean, and I enjoyed both the food and the service. I had a great stay at this beautiful villa and will definitely book again on my next trip.
