The staff were friendly and did their best to help us, but the hotel needs work. Our room had a stale smell, as if it had been closed up for a long time, and the bathrooms and room amenities felt very dated. The pool was closed and hadn’t been cleaned during our stay. Food was disappointing and lacked flavor, there was no buffet, and the fanless lobby was uncomfortable in the heat. The setting is the clear strength: Giritale Hotel overlooks the beautiful Giritale Tank. With better upkeep, refurbished rooms, and improvements to the food and facilities, the property could make much more of that location.

The sunset catamaran trip on the tank with the hotel naturalist was a highlight. We were lucky enough to see two elephants in the distance and several kinds of birds. The hotel itself was peaceful, with most rooms looking out over Giritale Tank. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the property was well kept. The food had a satisfying range and quality, the pool was a nice place to unwind, and the staff were attentive and very friendly. A lovely choice for nature, quiet, and warm service.

We found Lavendish Lake Girithale calm and scenic, just right for a relaxing break. The view was beautiful, the atmosphere felt homely, and the clean, comfortable rooms had good facilities. The staff were helpful and very friendly, and we really enjoyed the food. Would recommend it.

There’s a small pool for a quick dip, though the pool area is limited. The food was fresh and excellent, better than I’d expect from a typical 3-star hotel, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well kept. Lavendish Lake Giritale has a peaceful natural setting, with warm, attentive staff and a calm, inviting feel. It seems well suited to families, couples, or anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

We were six people staying two nights on a full-board plan, and the location was beautiful, peaceful, and scenic, with views over Girithale lake through the day. The rooms and toilets were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Restaurant staff deserve a special mention: they were obliging, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Everyone was welcoming from the moment we arrived. We had a relaxing, memorable stay and would return.
