Elysium

Catherine, the owner, was so welcoming and kind. Meeting her was a real piece of luck, and those qualities come through in this comfortable, charming hotel. We enjoyed every minute, in our room and around the hotel. The rooms, food, staff, service, cleanliness and location all went beyond what we expected. The sea and the cozy turtle beach nearby give the place a lovely atmosphere. I recommend everything on the menu, especially the matcha and white chocolate dessert, which is a must-try. If you're in Talpe, don't miss this cozy hotel. There's a little extra in every detail.

We spent three weeks in Sri Lanka and stayed at several hotels. Elisyum was the best for sure. The villa, location, food and service were all really great. The large pool was comfortable, and the small hotel felt like our own villa. Fantastic ocean views, with service that was discreet but immediate.

With only four villas at the resort, much of the time it felt like we had the place to ourselves. The pool area was beautiful, the location was great, and the food was some of the best we had on our holiday. Breakfast was incredible, and there was a good selection for lunch and dinner. Everything we tried was delicious. We stayed five nights, and I honestly can't fault the place. The rooms were beautiful and had everything we needed. The air conditioning was powerful, and the rooms were cleaned twice a day. The staff were some of the best we've experienced: attentive, polite and helpful, often seeming to know what we needed before we asked. Highly recommended for a luxurious trip!

It's a lovely hotel, but with that hefty price tag I expected more class from the service and hospitality. The staff are generally friendly, though getting a snack from the limited options or a drink while lounging by the pool meant repeatedly getting up to find someone. It made relaxing feel like an effort. Our room was spacious and well equipped, and the general facilities were pretty good. The massage setup is near the road, so it isn't relaxing, and there's no actual bar to sit at. As with most hotels in the area, they want dinner orders early and mark up the food significantly. There are areas to improve. Check out Era for more access to a bar and staff, or stay at Elysium if you want silence.
