We spent three weeks here from December 2025 to January 2026, two families with children, and left with the warmest memories. We had the second floor to ourselves, with a separate entrance. It had three air-conditioned bedrooms with fans, two bathrooms, a shared living area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a rooftop terrace with sun loungers, a sitting area, and a bathroom. The appliances all worked, the furniture was in good shape, and the beds in two of the rooms were huge with comfortable mattresses. The linens and towels were clean and smelled nice. At our request, one bedroom was changed to two single beds for our children. The hosts cleaned the floor several times and changed the linens and towels without charging extra, which was a nice surprise. WiFi was available, though we hardly used it because we had mobile data. The villa is wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by greenery and rice fields where peacocks wander. We had breakfast on the balcony in the shade, listening to chipmunks, peacocks, and other animals. The main street and beach are 10-15 minutes away by bike, and shops and fruit stalls are within walking distance. The hosts deserve a special mention. They lived downstairs and were so kind and welcoming; it felt like the best neighbors. When something went wrong, like the kitchen sink clogging, the guys came right away and fixed it. We shared several dinners with them and they treated us to local dishes. They also went to the temple, visited Kanneliya Nature Reserve, went on a holiday, and celebrated New Year's with us. They treated us like family and gave us lovely parting gifts. A huge thank you to these wonderful people. If we return to Sri Lanka, we'll stay with them again!
