Kalahe House

The peaceful, quiet setting made the villa a great place for anyone wanting to rest and relax. Our group of six had plenty of room in the spacious living area. The rooms were well maintained and the washrooms clean. Chandana, the villa caretaker, and Sewwandi, the chef, were courteous and helpful with all our requests. Chandana kept the pool and garden clean for us throughout, and Sewwandi cooked some delicious local meals. A big thank you to both. We had a good stay and would definitely consider coming back.

The location was calm and quiet, with lots of greenery, and easy to reach from Galle town. The place was awesome, with clean, spacious rooms, tidy bathrooms, great food and a nice swimming pool. We had three double rooms. We did have an issue with the beds. It was advertised for 6 pax, and since our group had 7pax, we asked for an extra bed. They provided an extra mattress instead, so there was no extra bed. This place is really suited to a group of 6 or fewer.

We had an amazing day here, especially when the rain came. The villa is small and peaceful, with a lovely setting and an infinity-edge pool in front, about 4-5 feet deep. Inside, there are two large bedrooms with attached bathrooms, two single beds, a king-size bed, and a roomy living area with a couch and a big round dining table. There's also a kitchen with a chef. Service was good, though you’re mostly on your own. Parking fits a few vehicles.

The setting feels peaceful and rural, and the renovated old house still has its grandeur. The garden-facing infinity pool is around 5 feet deep, with a lush paddy field alongside it. There are three spacious bedrooms for about 5-7 people, air conditioning in every room, and hot water in the attached bathrooms. The living room has plenty of space to relax and eat, and food can be arranged at the house if needed. A very attentive caretaker lives on the property and can suggest nearby sights, including the 'Yatagala Raja Maha Viharaya'. It’s near Unawatuna, reached from the highway entrance road and a cross road off Galle rd. We really enjoyed this villa, one of the best bungalows we’ve stayed in.
