The food was so good that we asked how it was made, and the friendly staff gave us a little cooking lesson. They were lovely throughout our stay and helped with everything, even letting us put up our hammocks. There’s a relaxed feel to the place, with space for all kinds of people. We’d gladly recommend it to visitors.

The kitchen ladies were so kind, and their cooking reminded me of my grandmas. Raja was lovely too, always smiling and ready to help. Manager Heman is a friendly, polite gentleman. I’m very grateful to the Hansa Surf hotel staff, especially receptionist Prabhashwara, who took care of everything I asked for. I’d recommend this hotel to tourists who don’t have complicated needs. It has the basics, like a bed, AC, and towels. There’s no hair dryer or water boiler in the room, though. It would be great if those were available.

From the restaurant by the beach, you can enjoy the sea breeze with a hot cup of tea. The best surfing spot is right in front of the hotel, and the sunsets in the evening are fascinating. At night, discos bring the area to life. The restaurant stays open until 10 pm, with Sri Lankan food, especially seafood, as well as English dishes. Lovely surroundings and friendly staff.
