Hildas guest house felt like a little oasis, with a relaxing garden, clean rooms, and good food. My cousin and I were there for three nights in september 2019. Hilda and her staff were kind and gave us space unless we wanted to chat. Hilda herself is easygoing and lovely. We'd happily stay there again. :)

It's a good, quiet place away from the noise of hikkaduwa, and the garden and pool are lovely. The staff are nice and breakfast is good. Some rooms could use an update. There are always interesting people staying long term.

The owner was awful to deal with. They double-booked us and sent us to a cave room instead. No internet, bed bugs, and no fan. Just a terrible resort.

The beach is only a five-minute walk away, and Hilda serves delicious food, including what I think is the best breakfast in Sri Lanka. It's wonderfully peaceful, and the flower-filled grounds are gorgeous, with orchids everywhere because Hilda loves flowers 🌺. The rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. I've traveled all over Sri Lanka on my seventh visit, and this is my fourth time staying with Hilda. To me, it's the most beautiful place in the country, and I can truly relax here.
