Yula Beach

The breakfast changed a little each day and was very good, and the staff were really nice. We first spotted Yula guesthouse from the beach and liked the glass fronts in the rooms with ocean views. We asked about the price, got a good rate, and moved over from our old hotel. The place looks different from the Google photos because it was renovated during the Pandemic. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a safe, sofa and minibar. The bathroom was also very spacious. For the price, it was a great deal.

Really, really good beachfront hotel in hikkaduwa. Nice vibe, and a good spot for surfing. Highly recommend.

The restaurant has a nice view, and the food is good. Staff are the sweetest, too. Breakfast was really good, and I had my best experience with a full fish here. The only downside was that the WiFi didn't work in the rooms, though it did work in the lobby and restaurant. I had a delightful stay and recommend the seaview rooms.

We booked two rooms two months before our vacation, but the owner cancelled the reservation five days before we were due to arrive. Booking.com approved it, yet he told us there were no rooms available. Then I called from a different number. He politely said we could book through Booking.com, come there, and he'd give us a 15% discount through a cancelled reservation. That was really nasty. We lost money and time.
