The backyard is lovely for relaxing in the sun, with sea and sand nearby, and the beach is just a short walk away. You can enjoy the sunshine and sunset, and the rooms are clean with basic facilities. The Terrace Restaurant is nice for meals, reading, or smoking, while the backyard restaurant is peaceful too. Lalitha cooks delicious, healthy Sri Lankan food. They also have two scooter pep bikes. An ATM, food city, shops, and restaurants are all within walking distance. Dilini is the host of Hikkaduwa backyard beach homestay and studied hotel management for five years at Srilanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management. Reasonable price and great hospitality. Fabulous homestay.

We spent a week with this lovely family and felt like part of it. The homestay really felt like a home away from home, right on the beach, and the facilities were great. Lalita makes wonderful Sri Lankan food, and the price was very good too.
