The calm, natural setting was a big part of what we loved about our stay at Papaya Hikkaduwa. The pool area felt like a peaceful little escape, especially in the evening, and the place itself is beautiful. Our room was comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, and everything was well maintained. The manager was kind, attentive, and always ready to help. We felt looked after without the attention ever feeling forced. You can tell a lot of care goes into running this place. If you want somewhere quiet and charming near Hikkaduwa with warm hospitality, I’d recommend it. We’d love to return.

The owner, staff, and cats were all so lovely. Even hours after we’d checked out, they were still just as nice when we used the showers.

The large swimming pool was a real highlight, especially since pools this size are rare at properties like this. The lovely woman who welcomed us answered all our questions, which helped a lot on our first day in Sri Lanka. Our stay went as smoothly as it could have.

Marie gave us a warm welcome at this quiet, clean, comfortable place. It’s close to amenities but away from the city bustle, so it’s a good base for relaxing and exploring nearby. The pool was a real plus for cooling off whenever we wanted. A lovely place to recharge. You can book with confidence.
