We stayed for two weeks in December 2024 and would happily come back. The location worked well for us: the beach and grocery stores were within walking distance, while being outside the tourist centre kept things fairly quiet. The host family were friendly and helpful with all kinds of questions, from where to find the market to where to get a computer fixed. They even shared tasty papayas from their garden. Their two lovely dogs brought us a lot of joy. The room and shared areas were comfortable and clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook. It’s also a good option for digital nomads. The WiFi was great, and there’s a nice balcony where you can work and enjoy the scenery. The train station is only a minute away, handy for trips elsewhere in Sri Lanka.

The landlord and family were very nice and helpful, and the location is convenient: Narigama beach is a five-minute walk away, with supermarkets and a fruit shop nearby. It was fine for one night. The downside was the condition of the place. The rooms had just reopened after a year and a half of lockdown and everything felt worn out, old, and untidy. The room was very basic, like a typical Asian home. There were holes in the bathroom without mosquito nets, so insects came into the room in the evening. The landlords’ two dogs didn’t just bark, they also jumped on people, which made it scary to leave the room. The internet was slow.

The hosts were lovely and so friendly. They even cooked us dinner and brought us everything we asked for. The place was clean, three minutes from the beach, and about a ten-minute walk from the surf points. I can really recommend it.

I stayed here last month and really recommend it. The terrace looking out over the garden was lovely, and the rooms and kitchen were good. It's close to the beach, while still being peaceful compared with the city noise. The owners are very kind.
