The Pink Elephant by Angam Villas

The staff, Asitha, Nilushika and Jayearathna, were sincere, friendly, and so helpful. Rosi was also great at communicating and even made room for us to add another night. The room and pool were pristine, and the peaceful surroundings made it easy to unwind. There's a small bar fridge, kettle, and microwave too, so you can settle in by the pool. We'd absolutely recommend The Pink Elephant to anyone visiting Sri Lanka.

Only a short stroll from the beach, with plenty of food options nearby. I had a great few nights here. The rooms are excellent, some with private kitchens as well as private pools, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good too.

Asitha, the caretaker, was genuinely kind and helpful, and the food was okay. The villa itself is spacious and has potential, but a lot of it still feels unfinished, like the work isn't complete. We stayed in the suite with a kitchen and found rats in it, which was a major shock and a serious hygiene concern. Getting there was unpleasant too. The road is extremely narrow and runs through a creepy neighborhood, which felt unsafe, especially at night. There's no proper parking. You have to leave the car on an empty, tree-filled plot, and falling branches in strong winds could damage it. With the unfinished construction, bad access, parking situation, and rats, the stay was very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend it until these issues are fixed.

The staff were welcoming and ready to help, and the location is handy for the beach and local attractions. The Pink Elephant by Angam Villas has a relaxed feel, with outdoor seating and lounge chairs where we could have coffee or unwind in the evening. I loved the colorful design, cozy seating spots, and peaceful garden. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and well looked after, with what we needed for a pleasant holiday. I'd recommend it if you're after a stylish and relaxing stay in Hikkaduwa.
