We loved the quiet feel of this place after busy days out. There are only two rooms, so it felt private, and the surroundings were tranquil and romantic. The clean, refreshing pool was a treat. You can walk to nearby beaches and to the main road, while the train station is only about five minutes away, handy for a trip to Galle. It’s family-run, and the hosts were so welcoming. Our room was spacious, spotless and comfortable, with lovely little touches like flowers placed around it. The property was very well kept and clean, and the Sri Lankan breakfasts were amazing. We stayed three nights and had different curries each morning. A superb experience, and we highly recommend it.

Chamara himself arranged a smooth, comfortable transfer from the airport to Hikkaduwa and proved time and again to be a perfect host. We stayed for eight days and loved the place. With only two rooms, the hotel feels private and cosy. It’s close enough to the beach and centre to walk everywhere, yet far enough from Hikkaduwa’s bustle to enjoy the songs of Sri Lanka’s beautiful birds without being disturbed. Our room was clean and nicely designed, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The owner made this place special, always going out of his way to help and answer our questions. My boyfriend and I had a great stay, and I’d definitely come back to this hotel if I visit Hikkaduwa again. Our room was spacious, very clean and designed with a lovely eye for detail. There’s also a nice pool to relax by, and breakfast was both delicious and really generous.

Chamara and his wife were so kind and accommodating. The room was spotless, tidy and spacious, with excellent air conditioning. They’d thought through the small details, including shower gel, which a lot of the places we stayed hadn’t provided. We had a fantastic stay at The Residence Hikkaduwa and would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting. Thank you both!

The hosts were wonderful, communicative and full of useful information. They were always offering to help. We had a very clean room with lots of amenities, and the location near the beach was great. They also arranged a driver to collect us from the airport. Breakfast was lovely, with stunning views from the roof. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
