Villa 51 - Ground Floor Villa

The villa sits at the edge of the village, with lovely views over bushes and rice fields. In the mornings, instead of traffic, we heard birds, squirrels, monkeys, and peacocks. We saw monkeys around the villa a couple of times a week and in the village too. They weren’t the nasty macaques, more like cute black monkeys, possibly spectacled. Flying foxes came around at night. We rented two rooms in January, each with its own living room and kitchenette. There are also rooms on the floors above and below, but I preferred our floor. The villa had everything we needed, the internet was good, and the AC was quiet. I also loved the cocktail mixer, which we used for fruit smoothies. The owner was pleasant, drove a tuk-tuk, and had his own shop on the route from the villa to the sea. The nearest beach is a 10-minute walk, and Turtle Beach costs 300-500 rupees by tuk-tuk. There’s a small family-run cafe called Truly Homes a five-minute walk away. We went there for breakfast and dinner, and I highly recommend it.
