Palm House in Jaffna offers a self-catering holiday home with free WiFi and private parking. It has a kitchen with a fridge and a private bathroom, and towels and bed linen are provided.

The photos made this place look better than it was. We’ve just checked in, and although we were told both rooms had AC, only one of the two does. The white pillowcases also had pale brown marks and didn’t look clean. WiFi wasn’t available either.

A good place to stay near the University of Jaffna. They serve customers Sri Lankan-style food.

Quiet, clean and safe, and a good choice for families visiting. It’s real value for money.
