Staff were polite and kind, but that was the bright spot. The room was roomy, yet it felt uncomfortable and worn out, right down to the frayed bathrobe. The hotel looked nothing like its photos, and the pool and other outdoor areas seemed dirty and very basic. There’s a pool and sauna, but I doubt many people would fancy a swim. The bathroom counter came only to my mid-thigh, and I’m 160 cm tall. I can’t see paying $90 without breakfast for this. I wouldn’t stay again.

We pretty much had the place to ourselves and were given a free upgrade. The food was the best we had in Sri Lanka, with great preparation and just the right amount of spice. The pool, sauna, and steam room were all good too. Our bed and plush pillows were very comfortable, and we could sleep without AC. Bar drinks were delicious, and the staff kept an eye on things. Great value for the price.

We booked at the last minute and were made to feel welcome straight away. The woman at reception was friendly and helpful, and her English was the best we’d come across in more than a week in Sri Lanka. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over a great view. Breakfast had plenty to choose from and was superb. We also had dinner there, with lots of options and lovely food. A fabulous place to stay in Kandy.

The restaurant is great, and it was a real plus to have access to the sauna and steam room. The mountain area gets chilly by the end of the day, even in February. The rooms are starting to feel a little old, so the price may be somewhat high compared with similar hotels in Sri Lanka. Still, a very nice place.

We spent three lovely days and nights here. It’s a small, family-run hotel up in the hills, with lovely views over Kandy, really good food, and service that felt hard to beat. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. If you prefer a smaller place to a huge, impersonal hotel, this is a good fit, even though it’s out in the sticks.
