Kandy View Hotel

For a budget hotel, I thought this was a lovely place. The views from the shared dining area and upstairs rooms were incredible. Rooms and facilities are basic and have their quirks, but I found that part of the charm. More sheets, pillows and blankets in the rooms would be a good improvement, though they brought them when we asked. I loved going for a crisp morning swim in the very clean, fresh pool, which didn't seem full of chemicals. The owner was kind and helpful. It's a short, scenic tuk-tuk ride from the lake and main part of the city. I'd recommend it if a simple, beautiful place suits you.

Ajith Kumara made our holiday feel perfect. From the moment we arrived, his warmth and professionalism were clear. He handled our requests efficiently and with a genuine smile, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was right. That kind of dedicated hospitality is rare. He's a real asset to the team, and his kindness made an already great holiday unforgettable. ❤️ We'll come back again.

For Rs. 4,000, the room had comfortable beds and a nice view. I stayed one night, and the staff member who explained the water cut was polite, kind and helpful. But I only found out about the cut after arriving, and it was really upsetting, especially in the morning when I couldn't even wash my face. The building is quite old, which may explain the mixed reviews. Noise was also a problem, since sounds from other rooms came through clearly and were annoying.

They were very kind when I told them about my booking mistake. I'd meant to reserve one day but had booked three, and they accommodated the last-minute change. The service was attentive, and they could provide whatever we needed. The place is a little outside Kandy, but they arranged a tuk-tuk whenever we needed one. Rooms are a bit dated and could use some work, but the price was great and breakfast was included and lovely. We stayed one night during our time in Kandy. Thank you 😊
