The main gate gets locked after 11 PM, so if you come back late, you can’t get into the hotel. That’s very uncomfortable, especially on a business trip. I stayed one night at Hotel Kandyan Arts Residency for work, and the poor room condition made the stay disappointing. It definitely wasn’t worth the price, especially since there are many much better hotels nearby for less. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The restaurant is on the 5th floor, and there’s a lift. The area and washrooms were clean, but the smell of cigarette smoke was everywhere. The cheese omelette was the best food I had there, and the view of the Handana mountain range is nice. Other than the smoke, it’s a perfect place to enjoy.

The restaurant is spacious and especially nice at night, and the place has an elegant look. We’ve used its reception halls for corporate events several times. It’s also a good spot for a night out with friends, away from the noise, with quality food at low rates. The restaurant draws more foreign travelers than locals, and the food is very good for the price.

The view is good, but lunch wasn’t ideal. The buffet had very few options and the food was average. The elevator was out of order, so I had to take the stairs up to the restaurant on the fifth floor.

I only stayed one night, but it was comfortable and the mountain and city views were fascinating. I liked the rooftop restaurant and the pieces of art on the floors. Many thanks to Mr. Jeeva, who was so kind and caring, helped me a lot, and made my stay very comfortable.
