The location worked well for us, about 10 minutes from the centre. Our hosts were great, and breakfast was freshly made each morning. We had a lovely stay at Resort Beam, with really lovely, spacious rooms.

The owners are lovely, and you can add breakfast for 1500. The room was nice. There’s no AC, but Kandy is cool enough that we didn’t really need it. It sits quite high up, so with a lot of luggage I’d consider taking a tuktuk. I’d recommend the PickMe app.

For around 13€ a night, you get a real jungle feel almost in the middle of the candy. Getting there means tackling a rough, uphill road, but that’s part of the atmosphere.

The hilltop location was tricky to find, since our sat. nav. sent us the wrong way. Once we arrived, though, the hosts were delightful. The guesthouse was lovely, the rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and breakfast very nice.

We ended up staying one night longer than planned because we were so comfortable. The rooms in this cute family building were spotless, with hot water and wifi, and breakfast was amazing. The woman who runs it and her husband were incredibly kind, especially sweet even by Sri Lankan standards. I was so excited to find this place in Kandy!
