Staff were all super friendly, and brought a kettle and tea to our room when we asked. Our shower wouldn’t heat up at first, but they fixed it right away. We stayed in room number 5, which had plenty of light and ventilation from three windows, plus a reasonably working ceiling fan and air conditioning. The hotel is a charming colonial building full of historical details, within walking distance of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and the lake. The room had old wooden windows and shutters, and a bed with a mosquito net. There’s no view from the windows since it’s right in the old town, and the shutters can be a bit hard to close. Still, if you like this kind of charm, it’s a great place to stay.

The staff in the bar and restaurant really made us feel welcome. They even sang happy birthday to my girlfriend and brought her cake and a gift. Breakfast was amazing, so don’t skip it. We also loved the upstairs restaurant, where the food was delicious and nicely presented, and the inner courtyard that doubles as a bar. We had a fantastic four-night stay for her birthday. Our suite was large and decorated in keeping with the old colonial building. The bed was comfortable, and both the shower and air conditioning worked well. Definitely recommend this hotel.

The old building gives the restaurant a nice atmosphere, and the staff were friendly, though inexperienced. Curry was a bit bland, but the chile sauce we asked for was great. Prices were a little above average. 3.5.

A lovely oasis right in central Kandy. We only stopped in for drinks, and there was a great range of beers and friendly service. We didn’t eat much, but the potato wedges were delicious.

We had a lovely meal on the veranda overlooking a very quiet road. The old colonial style of the building gives it such a great atmosphere. The bar downstairs was busy, while the upstairs restaurant was quiet. We really enjoyed the feeling of stepping back in time.
