The price, 3500, and the location were positives. The bed itself was comfortable, though the top sheet wasn't on it and was too small. The shower and room could've been cleaner, and the hotel's internet wasn't working. A lovely elderly couple run the place, but at 79 and 80 it feels a bit like staying with your grandparents.

Good value for money and no complaints. It's in a quiet neighborhood, with parking for around four cars. The caretaker was very nice and answered lots of our questions about Kandy. The city center is a 10-minute drive away, and the bhuddha statue is about 8 minutes away. Our room was clean and thoughtfully equipped.

The staff were so lovely and talkative, and made up for the very basic room. We had an amazing, generous Sri Lankan breakfast, and everyone took such good care of us. On arrival, they offered free coffee, tea, cookies, and more. The owners also gave us tips for getting to Adam's Peak, including the bus to Hatton and then on to Dalhousie. We stayed in the cheapest room. It was clean and spacious, but barely furnished, with a cement floor. There was hot water, shower gel, and shampoo. We didn't need the mosquito net since there weren't any mosquitoes around. There was no A/C, so the room got a little warm at night. For 20€, it was still good value. Royal Tourist Inn is a little outside the city center, but still walkable in about 20 minutes, and quieter than the noisy city. We enjoyed it more than the first homestay we stayed at in Kandy.

The Royal Tourist Inn made for a wonderful stay. Its location was great for exploring the city, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly.

The host was so sweet and gave us a good breakfast recommendation. Our room was clean, and there was hot water for the shower. Definitely good value for money!
