Taru Villas Levita - Kandy

We just had a cooking session with Shalika and subhani, and made some fabulous dishes together. Then we ate what we'd cooked for lunch, with the most beautiful view. The service, rooms, and views at Levita Taru villas were all amazing. Can't fault this hotel. Thankyou, Beverley & Heather.

The villa sits on a steep slope, so it has several levels and no elevator. Older guests may find that difficult. It's rustic in style, with lovely design and landscaping, and an infinity pool on the second level. There are six rooms in all, four with views of the reservoir. The rooms are large, comfortable, and spacious, and the clean bathrooms have the same rustic look. It's inside the Victoria golf complex, with a fantastic view of the Victoria reservoir and dam, and feels very secure. This is a small luxury hotel that you can reserve through the Hilton honors app. Since there aren't many rooms, the menu is all ala carte. Chefs Subani and Dinosha made wonderful, out of this world food, tailored to individual tastes. The staff were warm, friendly, and eager to go the extra mile. Thank you to Thiloka, Methsala, Nipuni, and Shalika for making our stay memorable, and to Siva for the lovely landscaping. I highly recommend this hotel.

After leaving Taru Villas in Habarana because of the flooding, we took refuge at Levita in Kandy. The team gave us wonderful, caring service through the difficult conditions caused by Cyclone Ditwah, and looked after us so well. We enjoyed the great food and the magnificent view over the Victoria Reservoir. We'd love to return someday when the skies are sunny.

The main dishes tasted good, though the portions were small. It's about 45 minutes from Kandy city centre, so may not suit anyone wanting to stay near the city. Still, the place is amazing, with a sweeping view of Victoria Reservoir, and Thiloka and her all-women team provided top notch service.
