The Best Hostel

It's a comfortable, clean hostel with well-equipped facilities and a quiet setting away from the city. There's no air conditioning, but the cooler climate meant we didn't need it. The staff are very friendly and helpful, especially with trip ideas and reasonably priced day trips. It's also a nice spot to meet other travelers and maybe make friends.

The owner is such a good guy, very easygoing and genuinely helpful. He can arrange some of the cheapest tours in town and really goes out of his way when you need something. The hostel itself is clean, organized, and feels safe, with a great atmosphere. Breakfasts were amazing, and there was always free tea and coffee to help yourself to. The bathrooms and showers were clean, though not very big, and the WiFi was good. There weren't mosquito nets on the beds yet, but I didn't have any mosquitoes during my stay. Five out of five from me!

It's a quiet place within walking distance of the city, though a little outside the centre. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are friendly and quick to help. They can plan activities, book train tickets, and give advice for the rest of Sri Lanka. The dorms have fans and the rooms and bathroom are simple. Breakfast is basic but really nice, and the price for what you get is good.

The budget double was comfortable, and everything was very clean, including the shared bathroom, sheets, and towels. There was warm water. WiFi was a problem in our top-floor room, which mattered since we had planning to do, but it worked well in the common area. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help. We also fell for their sweet Dalmatian, Siba, and spent a good part of the stay playing with her. The walk into the city took around 15 minutes and we enjoyed it. We had a great stay.
