I’d paid in advance and booked, but decided not to stay because the area didn’t feel right. The Google location was wrong, and after several unanswered calls I had to ask people nearby how to find the place. There’s no parking, so you have to leave your vehicle by the roadside. I also noticed a hole in the ceiling above the shower.

After traveling about 250 km from home for a booked room, I was told on arrival that they couldn’t give it to me for some reason. I was extremely disappointed and had a hard time finding another hotel then. This felt like cheating and was completely unacceptable. Don’t book here, or you may run into the same problem.

An emergency meant we couldn’t make our original booking, so we moved it to the following week. At first they promised either a refund or four rooms, then refused both. The customer service was very poor, especially from one female staff member. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We’ve stayed here every time we come to Kandy, more than three times now, and each visit has been a great experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff are very nice, and the location is easy to get to. The large shared balcony is a lovely feature, with especially beautiful views at night and at dawn. It’s very good value for the price. One issue: the triple room bathroom was smaller and below the standard of the double room. Its drain was blocked, but they let us use the double room bathroom free of charge, and that one was much better.
