The Boundary Yala

The safari was a real highlight at The Boundary Yala. They have a seven-seat jeep, and the host came along as our guide and packed breakfast for the trip. They were fully committed to helping us see animals, checking with drivers from other jeeps about where harder-to-find wildlife had been spotted and heading there. We saw elephants, buffalos, and even a leopard that we followed and photographed twice. The host was also resourceful and available, and arranged our safari and transfers. The rooms were great, clean, and had air conditioning that worked perfectly. We could have lunch or dinner at Boundary, where the hosts cooked very well. Their kottu and chicken curry were the best we had in our first week.

We spent two nights at The Boundary Yala, and everything was fantastic. We did a full-day safari and saw all the animals, especially one leopard, Luca, the star of this national park! Kapila has a great eye for spotting them, even the very small ones. He knows everything about the park and is the best guide.

We were lucky enough to see leopards, and the safari felt like real wildlife tracking thanks to our host, who guided us professionally and knew the species so well. The jeep was good, and breakfast and lunch were both high quality. Back at the property, the rooms were simple but clean and practical, with lovely, well-kept natural surroundings. The owner welcomed us warmly and made a genuine connection with us. This was the best safari service we experienced in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended.

We spent one night here before heading out on safari, and had a great time. We saw plenty of wildlife, including crocodiles, birds, elephants and buffalo, plus a leopard in the distance. The owner was incredibly kind, one of the kindest people I’ve met.
