The grounds at Kanferri Villa were well cared for, with a lovely pool and a peaceful feel. Our room was immaculate, thoughtfully designed and comfortable, with everything we needed. Ferran was so helpful and made us feel at home; nothing seemed like too much trouble. Breakfast each day was AMAZING, fresh and excellent quality, and we loved the coffee. We had a beautiful stay and would recommend it to anyone. We’d love to return.

The garden and pool were lovely places to unwind. I’d say 3-5 nights is a good amount of time to settle in and enjoy the place. The rooms are pretty, practical and smartly designed, and the whole property has a lovely sense of design wherever you look. We usually like to stay right in the center when surfing, but being away from it worked perfectly in Ahangama. The main road is busy and loud, while this spot is quiet and calm. It’s easy to get around: the accommodation can arrange a scooter, and tuk tuks are easy to organise for surfing. Many drivers have surfboard straps and will even collect you after your session. Ferran is a lovely host and always up for an interesting conversation. Madura is super friendly and finds a solution for whatever you need. We’ve stayed in lots of nice places, but this one felt particularly special.

I spent several days at Kanferri Villa at different points during my first trip to Sri Lanka, and it felt like a home away from home. Ferran and Madura are genuinely kind, warm people, and staying with them felt like being welcomed into a family. The setting is peaceful and beautiful, while still close to what you need. Mornings brought an amazing breakfast, and the pool was perfect. The rooms were clean and lovely. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Ahangama, I’d really recommend it.

The wildlife is lovely to wake up to here. You can sit and listen as it comes alive, and watch monkeys swinging around. Maduro made an amazing breakfast every morning, too. Ferran has clearly put his heart and soul into the property, and you can feel that as soon as you arrive. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Thank you, we’ll be back!

The location is a little out of the way, and there’s no restaurant on site, so we had to take a tuk-tuk whenever we wanted to go out for a meal. Still, it was a very pleasant stay. The rooms are beautiful and the setting is lovely, with monkeys often around. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent, especially the fresh juices.
