South Point Surf House

The kids were so well looked after by the staff, and Sujeewa and the team took great care of all of us. We had six adults and four young children, from 9 years down to 18 months, and the rooms had cots and high chairs ready. They were comfortable, and we had our own very secluded pool. There was security around the clock, too. We spent Christmas 2025 at Surf House - Southpoint villas. The beach was just across a small road, and it was good for surfing. Meals were delicious and varied, especially the Christmas seafood buffet and the barbecue on our last night. We also took day trips to Galle, a nearby beach to see turtles, a boat trip from Mirrisa for whales and dolphins, an elephant safari at Udawalawe, and the lesser-known Kaneliya rainforest. It was a fabulous, unforgettable family holiday.

Mrs Sujeewa and Mr Gamini suggested a range of Sri Lankan dishes, which was just what we wanted as Sri Lankans living abroad. It felt like getting a taste of home over those two days. The whole team made us feel so comfortable, and we’re grateful for that. At Ahangama South Point Ocean Villa, we were welcomed with a drink, and the flower bouquets we ordered were brought to us. The rooms stayed clean and tidy, and the bathrooms were huge and lovely. We had a beautiful ocean view from the villa, and the pool looking out to sea was spectacular. The staff were warm and efficient. Whenever we asked for anything, they were happy to help, and when we needed first aid, they came right away. Thank you, team. God bless you all!

The villa may be beautiful, but the other “chalets” they offer are a scam. They’re surrounded by awful, ruined, dirty buildings. Don’t agree to stay in anything other than the villa. The people are dishonest and refused to refund our money after we cancelled. There are lots of cheaper places along the coast with much nicer beaches.

We booked all 18 beachside rooms across the three villas for our group trip in December 2025. The views, greenery, pool and service from Mrs. Sujeewa and the team were a hit with everyone. The vegetarian food was average. They clearly aren’t used to catering for people who eat only vegetarian food, but otherwise everything was good. Fantastic villas right on the beach.
