Manager Sudarshana was extremely friendly, helpful and quick to respond, and Sushant looked after us exceptionally well. Breakfast was superb and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay, though with so few guests around it felt a little lonely. This is one of the best villas we’ve stayed in, with quality construction, lovely furnishings, greenery and high-quality crockery and cutlery. The kitchen was well equipped with a gas stove, microwave, kettle and a large fridge, all in excellent working order. The swimming pool is beautiful and spacious. I didn’t use it because the steps had no railing to hold on to, which feels unsafe for senior citizens when nobody is around.

The local tuk-tuks that wait outside the gate are friendly, and they took us around the town and villages. They also helped us find good deals on keepsakes and adventure sports. The staff at Tisara spa were very kind and helpful, including helping us arrange cabs for long drives to the north of Srilanka and once negotiating the price for an auto/tuktuk ride into town. We spent a week there in December. The villa was beautifully furnished and the breakfast spread was really good. I’d suggest choosing the local breakfast over the continental option.

We had a mix-up with the dates on our arrival, so the staff weren’t ready for us. The manager reacted quickly and got things sorted for our stay in a short time. He’s an active young man with a fixed smile. The chalets are very well equipped and maintained, with lovely self-contained units that work well for families and friends getting together. It was off season, so we had to get our food from outside. Still, it was a pleasant place to stay.
