Othashy Airport Hotel

After a 14-hour flight, we just needed a clean, air-conditioned place to sleep briefly and freshen up before continuing to our final destination. We finally landed in Colombo, and this did the job. The water pressure was average.

We stayed for 10 days and had a good time here. The hotel was very clean and just five minutes from the airport. It's also near the Glorious Church. The couple running it were kind and very helpful, and the service was good.

The way the staff treated us made the stay frustrating from the start. They were unfriendly, unhelpful, and showed little basic courtesy, so the place never felt welcoming. It seemed to me that management wasn't supervising them properly, and they came across as untrained and careless with guests. Customer service should be a basic part of running a hotel, but this property fell badly short. Management needs to take responsibility, train the staff, and make sure guests are treated respectfully. I can't recommend staying here unless that improves.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. Guests deserve respect and value for their money, and my experience with the owner was very disappointing. When I brought up problems, the response was arrogant, with no real willingness to listen. The owner was rude and dismissive, and seemed completely unconcerned about customer satisfaction. That attitude sets the tone for the place, and it helps explain why the staff seem to lack guidance. An owner should set a professional example, but that wasn't my experience.
