Ranmal Airport Transit Hotel

A relaxing, reasonably priced spot to wait an hour or more for a bus, especially if you're travelling by plane and in transit.

We booked quickly after our original reservation was cancelled, choosing it for the airport location after seeing a Jaffna Youtuber’s review. That turned out to be a mistake, and I wouldn't recommend it for families with kids. The road in is in poor shape, and our room was dirty, smelly, and full of cockroaches. No toiletries were provided, the toilet tissue was soaked, and we even found used condoms under the bed. We were put on the ground floor, where people kept knocking or trying the door. It was noisy, with mosquitoes and ants everywhere, and they only accept cash, which was another hassle. A sincere request to reviewers: please research places carefully before recommending them. Your reviews really affect other people's choices. 🙏🏽

Even though it's close to the airport, this was the worst hotel I've stayed in. We rented a luxury apartment with air conditioning, but the room and bed linens were filthy, and a foul smell hit us as soon as we walked in. The staff member with us tried air freshener, but it didn't help. From the bed, we could see more than enough mold on the ceiling and in the bathroom. Absolutely unacceptable!

The rates are pretty reasonable, and they have both AC and non AC rooms. For a couple of hours' stay when you need somewhere reasonably cheap, it'll do the job, though it doesn't have tourist hotel standard facilities and amenities. The service needs improvement. The rooms are... well, you get the idea.
