Nico Beach Hotel

There were quite a few long-term guests, which gave the hotel a warm, homey feel. We appreciated that, and the restaurant food was very good too. We came with our two young children and our parents. The staff, especially Saman, Maalay, Chanu, and Uncle, were attentive, kind, and efficient, and helped us feel comfortable throughout the stay. One thing caught us off guard: at check-in we were told they couldn’t take credit cards, even though the booking website said otherwise. It didn’t seem like the card machine would be fixed soon, so future guests should be ready to pay cash. We were satisfied with our stay.

The team really stood out. Manager Chanu, Saman, Milan, and Chamilla were all friendly and gave great service. The room was great, and everything around the hotel was clean and well kept. You’re right by the beach, and there’s a pool with a shower beside it. Sun loungers and parasols are included, and fresh towels are available at no charge. They even offer one-day laundry at a fair price. The restaurant has excellent food and plenty to choose from. I’d highly recommend the hotel and its lovely team.

I was a little unsure about traveling somewhere unfamiliar on my own with a friend, but the hotel staff looked after us like family once we arrived. They were thoughtful about my dietary needs and made vegetarian meals for me. Saman, Maalay, Chanu, and Uncle were all very helpful and polite. I had a comfortable stay and a really pleasant experience.

The outdoor area and lovely view are what I remember most. The sea is only a few yards away, and there’s a pool on site, so relaxation is close at hand. The rooms are fine as a base, and breakfast at the hotel was a nice way to start the day. All the staff were friendly, especially Milan. He checked on us throughout our stay, making sure we were alright, literally 24/7. His manners and work ethic are something we could all learn from. If you stay here, please be kind to the pet dogs too, they’re lovely. You won’t be disappointed.
