The owner made me feel welcome right away, and everyone helping to run Serena Vista Villa was friendly and helpful. The garden is lovely and the whole place is very clean, which makes for a really relaxing stay. I’d recommend Serena Vista Villa if you want a beautiful setting and a taste of the local atmosphere.

Ramani was a lovely host, always willing to help with questions, and there are plenty of people nearby who can lend a hand too. The villa is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful part of Hikkaduwa, but with a bike you can reach the good restaurants in under ten minutes. It’s set up well for a long stay for two, with a fridge, AC, several fans, and a BBQ station in the yard. I’d definitely recommend it for a vacation ☺️

It was such a restful place to stay. The bungalow had comfortable five-star beds, a lovely view of the River and the greenery, and a beautiful European style building. The locals and kids nearby were cheerful, kind, and welcoming.

The backyard is spacious, which was a real plus with a child, and the neighbourhood is quiet and friendly. There’s a beautiful Beach nearby for daily walks. We stayed upstairs, where the kitchen had all the cooking equipment and a mosquito net, and everything was very clean. The villa is well cared for, and the owner is a kind, helpful woman. I’d recommend this place whether you’re travelling as a family with kids or on your own and looking for some rest and space.

I spent four months here, through March 2024, and came away with some really good memories. The owners don’t live at the villa, so it feels private, but they’re friendly, caring, helpful, and speak very good english. It’s a quiet spot right by the river among banana and palm trees, with virtually no nearby villas or neighbour noise. The views are one of the best parts, especially from the second-floor terrace, and the setting feels like being in a true rain sri lankan rain forest. Dodanduwa Cliffs are within walking distance and very beautiful. Kumarakanda beach is also walkable, with calm water, no currents, and not many people. There’s a local fish market nearby if you want fish for a barbeque. The villa is tidy and well looked after, with new AC in every room, a bathroom in each of the three rooms, and ceiling ventilators throughout. Dialog internet is available. I’d suggest having a bike to get there, and it’s about a ten-minute ride to central Hikkaduwa.
