The little extras made this the best hotel experience of our trip. If you’re lounging in the sun, staff bring around cold towels, homemade ice lollies, or fruit skewers. At night there’s a turn-down service with a thoughtful surprise, like soap or a bamboo fan. We loved coming back to those touches after evenings in Weligama or Ahangama. We had a gorgeous stay here at the end of our honeymoon. The service, setting, and included extras were truly five-star, and I was surprised by some of the negative reviews. The rooms are stylish, and the grounds are beautiful and relaxed, with lovely views and plenty of places to read or sunbathe. The food was incredible. Each morning we had a three-course breakfast on our balcony: fresh fruit, pastries, juice and coffee, followed by a main such as an omelette or Sri Lankan breakfast. The lunch and dinner menu was also wonderful. The staff were all welcoming and friendly. We can’t wait to stay at Eraeliya again on our next trip to Sri Lanka.

Suranga, the Resort Manager, deserves a special thank you. He was caring and attentive, checked that we were comfortable, and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The staff were kind and made us feel welcome throughout. Era Eliya Villas & Gardens was peaceful, elegant, and beautifully kept from the moment we arrived. Our villa was clean, spacious, and full of charm, and the garden views were breathtaking. It was a lovely place to unwind in nature, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Weligama. Can’t wait to return! 🌿✨

The beach is quite small, and getting into the water isn’t easy because of the waves. There isn’t really a place to lie down, either. Still, we had an unforgettable stay at Eraeliya Hôtel and would highly recommend it for a peaceful, distinctive escape. The hotel has a beautiful colonial feel and an intimate, authentic atmosphere that made us feel at ease. The scenery is stunning, with lush greenery, vivid colors, and even the possibility of seeing wildlife around the property. The staff were kind, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, and the food was delicious. There’s a great surf spot right in front, and the spa is good, too.

The team handled a small problem with a dinner order when we had a guest over with real care and professionalism. That response said a lot about the service, and Daren, Deen, and Raaj were kind and attentive throughout our stay. The food was a highlight, especially the unforgettable fresh tuna, and the wine list had great choices to go with our meals. The rooms had thoughtful details too, including excellent shower gel and amenities. Eraeliya Villas & Gardens is gorgeous, peaceful, beautifully designed, and perfectly maintained. We’d happily return and recommend it to anyone visiting Weligama.

Breakfast was probably among the best we’ve had anywhere, with great quality and plenty to choose from. The team also made a real impression: from the chatty security guard at the gate to reception and the restaurant crew, everyone was genuinely welcoming and helpful while still giving us room to ourselves. We spent six nights at Eraeliya Villas and Gardens and had a great experience all around. It’s in a calm, slightly tucked-away spot between Ahangama and Weligama, but easy to get around by tuk tuk or scooter. There are two good, easy surf spots a 5-15 minute walk away. Thanks to the whole team, we’ll definitely be back. 10/10 ✌️😁
