Glorious Nature Inn

Our room was large, and the bathroom was lovely. Every window looked out toward Little Adam’s Peak and waterfalls, with mountain views all around. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and brought breakfast to our own private balcony each morning. It's very peaceful up there, but only a 5 min tuk tuk ride to the Main Street of Ella for restaurant and bars.

You get a great balcony view, including a waterfall, and the room is spacious. The place is a little far from Ella centre, so you'll need a tuk-tuk from the centre, which cost us 500 rupees. Breakfast is served from 8-9 a.m. There's no spot for clothes, not even a small hanger, which would have been enough. If you need a transfer or help arranging a trip, ask the owner, you'll get a better price than booking on the street.

The view was easily the most beautiful we've seen in all of Sri Lanka, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The room itself was okay, though all the textiles had a slightly strange smell. Our expectations were quite high this time, and unfortunately they weren't fully met. The price is high.

Getting there with heavy luggage isn't easy, but it's a very nice guesthouse with a fantastic mountainview. The rooms are new and clean, and the people are friendly.
